🌿  Yoni steaming is an ancient practice where individuals sit over a pot of hot water infused with herbs, allowing the steam to rise and come into contact with the vaginal area. The term "yoni" refers to the female genitalia in Sanskrit and is often used in spiritual and wellness contexts.

The process is typically done by sitting on a stool or sitting over a container of steaming water containing a blend of herbs such as mugwort, rosemary, lavender, and others, which are thought to have medicinal or healing properties. Advocates of yoni steaming claim that it can help with various reproductive health concerns, such as menstrual irregularities, cramps, postpartum healing, trauma and vaginal dryness.

There are 11 blends listed below. Each blend is tailored to a specific criteria.

🌿  How To Yoni Steam:

What You Need:
1. A bowl or pot: Large enough to hold water and herbs (a heat-resistant container).
2. Herbs: Common herbs include mugwort, rosemary, lavender, and calendula. You can buy pre-made yoni steam blends or create your own.
3. Hot water: You’ll need boiling water for the steam.
4. A comfortable seat: A stool or chair with a hole in it (often called a yoni steam seat) or a DIY setup with a towel or blanket to create a barrier between you and the bowl.
5. A towel or blanket: To wrap around your waist or to create a steam tent.

🌿  Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Prepare the herbs: Choose your preferred herbs. You can either buy a pre-made yoni steaming blend or create your own. A common blend might include a mix of mugwort, rosemary, and lavender.
2. Boil water: Boil around 4-5 cups of water. Once the water is boiling, pour it into the bowl or pot.
3. Add herbs: Add about 1-2 tablespoons of your chosen herbs to the hot water. Let them steep in the water for about 5-10 minutes, so the steam becomes infused with the properties of the herbs.
4. Set up your space: Find a comfortable, private area where you can sit and relax. If you're using a regular bowl or pot, you can place it on the floor or on a stable surface, then sit comfortably over it. If you’re using a specialized yoni steam seat, make sure it's positioned in a way that allows you to sit comfortably with your vaginal area directly over the steam.
5. Wrap yourself: Use a towel or blanket to drape around your waist, creating a seal around the steam to keep it concentrated in the area.
6. Sit over the steam: Slowly lower yourself over the steam (but not too close to avoid burns) and sit for about 20-30 minutes. Make sure the steam is not too hot for your comfort. You should feel a gentle warmth but not extreme heat.
7. Relax: During the steaming, it’s important to relax and enjoy the process. Some people meditate, listen to music, or take deep breaths.
8. Aftercare: Once you’re done, dry yourself with a clean towel, and take it easy for a little while afterward. Some people recommend drinking water or herbal teas to stay hydrated.

🌿  Important Safety Tips:

Test the temperature:
Make sure the steam is not too hot to avoid burns.
Avoid steaming during menstruation: It’s typically advised to avoid yoni steaming during menstruation, as your body is already shedding and cleansing naturally.
Be cautious with any existing infections or sensitivities: If you have vaginal infections, irritation, or other health concerns, consult a healthcare provider before attempting yoni steaming.
Do not steam if pregnant: Yoni steaming is not recommended during pregnancy.
